Happy Spring 2024!

With today being the first of May, we have begun marking National Lyme Disease Awareness Month, which underscores best prevention methods of Lyme and additional tick-borne diseases.

My name is Dan Wolff, better known as Tick Man Dan because I have devoted much of my professional life to understanding as best I can the scourge that is ticks. Among my accomplishments is an invention of a novel, unique tool that effectively removes embedded ticks from people and pets.

For more than 25 years I have studied the behavior, anatomy and lifecycle of ticks. I partner with academic institutions, scientists and other organizations in order to raise awareness. My efforts are oriented toward personal and pet safety, and I strive to keep the public informed about precautions in the face of ticks which is only becoming more serious and widespread amid threats presented by climate change. Mild winters provide increased opportunity for ticks to procreate, predate and transmit infections.
